Tbilisi

Tbilisi - the soul and heart of Georgia, was founded in the 5th century. For tourists, the city begins with Mount Mtatsminda, which is 727 meters above sea level.

Abanotubani sulfur baths. This is a complex of baths, standing on natural sulphurous springs. It was built in the 17th century and work to this day. There are 10 baths in the complex.

Tbilisi Juma Mosque. Located next to the Sulfur Baths. Built in 1723-1735, the architecture and design of the temple building simultaneously combines Islamic architectural styles and neo-Gothic.

Turtle Lake. Once upon a time, turtles lived here, hence the name. There is beautiful nature and clean, almost mountainous air.

Ethnographic Museum (near Turtle Lake). Here is the real Georgia in miniature: traditional houses and outbuildings, interior items and tools collected from all regions.

Pixel 34 building. One of the buildings that stands out from the general view of ancient Tbilisi. This building was built in 2008 and caused outrage among the residents of the capital of Georgia: many believed that something so modern looked ridiculous in such an ancient city. However, time has passed, and now no one considers the building "inappropriate".

Great Synagogue. Another proof of the amazing combination of cultures in Tbilisi. Jews have lived in Tbilisi for over two thousand years, but there are only two active synagogues in the capital. The synagogue on Leselidze has an amazing interior.

Narikala Fortress. An ancient fortress on the mountain. You can climb both on foot and in the cable car.
Mother Georgia. The monument is 20 meters high and can be seen from any place of Tbilisi. In one hand, a young beautiful girl holds a cup of wine for her guests, and in the other - a sword for protection from enemies.

Bethlehem street-stairs (descent from Mother Georgia along another road). One of the oldest streets in Tbilisi. On the way, you will see an observation deck.

Memorial "History of Georgia". This monumental ensemble of 64 figures reminds Stonehenge: huge stone statues show various events in Georgian history and its leaders. Breathtaking city and sea views.

Batumi

Batumi is a beautiful seaside city. Ancient history, dynamic architecture, sunny beach, boulevard, Batumi botanical garden, delicious Adjarian cuisine and many entertainment, cultural and recreation places make this city incomparable and attract a lot of tourists from all over the world. Batumi has a humid subtropical sea climate with snowless winters and warm summers. The average annual temperature in January is 7.1 ° C, and in August - 23.2 ° C.

Batumi Boulevard. It is located in the historical part of the city, along the coastline. Its length reaches 7 km. Boulevard is one of the most important sights of Batumi. It is full of cafes, restaurants, shops, children's attractions and dancing fountains.

Piazza square. A Venetian corner in the capital of Adjara, reminds St. Mark's Square. Fits perfectly in the historical part of the city along with all the coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops.

New Batumi. The new part of Batumi will be comfortable for tourists who prefer a more active and bright style of recreation. You will have to walk at least half an hour or go by transport to get to the main sights of Batumi. On the other hand, there is a very large selection of modern apartments with excellent renovation, many casinos, shops and expensive restaurants, some of which (for example, the "Upside Down House") have become the hallmarks of Batumi.
Park of Miracles. This is not even one attraction of the old city of Batumi, but several: the Batumi lighthouse, the Ferris wheel, the Alphabet tower and the moving sculptural composition "Ali and Nino" known all over the world.

6 May Park. Here is a large-scale complex of buildings of the Batumi Dolphinarium - the first in the USSR. There is also a local small zoo.

Sameba Church. This church, located on one of the hills surrounding the city, can be seen from many points of Batumi. It was built in the second half of the 19th century on the top of a 250-meter hill above Batumi. Sameba is the best observation deck in Batumi, the whole city can be seen at a glance.

Botanical Garden. The territory with a total area of about 113 hectares. Everything in the garden is planned with great consideration to details: a lot of bamboo benches or even neat gazebos for those who decide to relax. There are many springs with drinking water, several observation decks with gorgeous sea views and free Wi-Fi. All over the territory there are signs, maps and information desks about the park.

Gonio Fortress. Built near Batumi and is an ideal option for an independent excursion around Adjara. It is considered one of the largest and oldest structures of this kind in the country. Over the centuries-old history, this place has acquired many myths and legends. The veil of mystery surrounding the Gonio-Apsaros Fortress attracts tourists from all over the Black Sea coast of the country.

Petra Fortress. It stands on a hill near Batumi, in the village of Tsikhisdziri, right on the seashore. The ruins of the Petra fortress are located on a hill between the sea and the road.

Makhuntseti waterfall and arched bridge of Queen Tamara. There are enough other ancient bridges and beautiful waterfalls in Georgia, but the convenient location of the bridge during the reign of Queen Tamara, 30 km from Batumi, made this place very famous, and the fact that some 400 meters from it there is a magnificent Makhuntseti waterfall. The water level in the Adjaristskali river decreases in summer and reveals sandy beaches where you can swim and sunbathe.

Kutaisi

Kutaisi is the second largest Georgian city. The city stands on the Rioni River. Many ancient buildings, temples and monasteries are protected by UNESCO. At the same time, Kutaisi is a fairly large industrial city, which also has modern buildings.

Square of David the Builder and the Colchis Fountain. There is an equestrian statue of King David, the Colchis Fountain, which is an enlarged copy of ancient gold artifacts found by archaeologists near Kutaisi.

Mtskheta

Mtskheta is the most sacred city in Georgia and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mtskheta is located just 20 km north of Tbilisi, in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. The city with a population of about 8000 is one of the main tourist destinations in Georgia.
Jvari Temple. located on a hill overlooking Mtskheta. The name of which is translated as "cross". Jvari is the place where Saint Nino erected a sacred cross to symbolize the adoption of Christianity by Georgia in the 4th century AD.

Samtavro Monastery. The current monastery in which the ruler Mirian and his wife Nana are buried, who were the first to be baptized by St. Nino in 337. The monastery itself was built in 1820. Elder Gabriel, one of the most revered Georgian saints, rests in the church fence of the monastery. Crowds of pilgrims and admirers of the saint come here. In 1906, a monument to Mirian and Queen Nana was erected in the monastery.

Ruins of Bebristsikhe (old man's fortress). An ideal excursion point, a short distance from Samtravo monastery. The walls of the fortress are picturesque, and from here one of the best views of Mtskheta and the valley of the Aragvi river opens.

Kakheti

Kakheti is the Alazani Valley, ancient monasteries and national parks. Here is dozens of wineries, the legendary Tsinandali and Kindzmarauli wines.
Sighnaghi. It is the "Georgian" San Marino, the main tourist "magnet" of Kakheti. Being located on the top of a mountain range, it has never been conquered or destroyed by anyone - and for this reason it has come down to us almost in its original form.

Khareba Wine Tunnel. The giant tunnel was carved out in the thickness of Mount Kavkasioni in the 50s of the last century - the reason for its construction is not known for certain. According to rumors, the total length of the tunnel is either 8 or 11 km.

Svaneti

Svaneti — this mountainous region is called the Land of Towers. Since ancient times, this territory has been inhabited by the Svans, who have built many watchtowers. In addition, since ancient times they have been known as professional climbers. And now, mountaineering is considered a national sport in these parts.
Mestia. The tourist center, there are hotels and guest houses, the infrastructure is growing every year. Dozens of routes lead from Mestia to the surrounding sights. The importance of a small village in tourist life is evidenced by the presence of its own airport named after Queen Tamara.

Svan towers. There are more than three hundred towers in Svaneti. In the evenings, the towers of Mestia are beautifully illuminated. Towers were built to defend against an external enemy or neighbors. However, all the Svans are unanimous that there have never been internal wars in Svaneti.

Borjomi

Borjomi is a balneological and climatic resort in Georgia at an altitude of 800 meters above the sea. Why is everyone trying to get here? Mild climate, mountains, forest, fresh air, familiar name and sanatorium. And in Borjomi there are more than 200 sunny days a year.

Borjomi Central Park. There is a mineral spring here. You can drink water in unlimited quantities. True, you won't be able to drink too much, since it is warm and smells of hydrogen sulfide, but even a few glasses a day will be of great benefit.

Gudauri

Gudauri is the youngest and most modern winter resort in Georgia. Located on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range, among snow-capped peaks and deep gorges shining in the sun, Gudauri boasts wide comfortable slopes of various steepness, excellent snow cover from December to April, a mild climate without strong frosts and icy winds. And the prices are reasonable.
Gudauri Park. The length of trails is from 50 kilometers, where the total number of trails is 22. The park's lifts can simultaneously serve 11,000 people. Freeride is considered to be the most important attraction of Gudauri - it is a descent through virgin fields, the absence of stones, and a deep snow cover.

Cross (Gudauri) pass. In the beautiful valley of the Aragvi River, there is the Cross Pass, which got its name from the stone cross installed in 1824. It served to mark the point of the pass and passes through the main ridge of the Caucasus at an altitude of 2379 meters. The most picturesque road among the mountains follows the most ancient historical path, connecting the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia through the Darial Gorge.
